Preventive medicine is our primary focus in ensuring your children’s good health and preventing disease(s)/illness(es), thereby promoting their general physical well being.
During these ‘Well-Care’ visits, we thoroughly check your child’s general physical condition and we check, monitor & evaluate to see if they are growing & developing within their normal age levels. Aside from height, weight, BMI index and their vital signs, we also check their vision & hearing acuity. Using the most up-to-date and appropriate tracking & monitoring tools/techniques, we likewise pay very close attention and track their physical & mental developmental milestones.
We also discuss & counsel you on your child’s proper diet/nutrition, physical activities/exercise, weaning from their bottle, toilet training, safety/accident prevention and many other relevant child care issues/concerns.
It is imperative that we see your child regularly to monitor their growth & development. From 0 to 2 years, because so much is happening with your child, we need to see and check on them at the following age intervals in accordance to the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics:
After their two years ‘Well Care’ check-up, your child needs to be seen annually for their preventive (Well-Care) check-up until they reach the age of seven (7). After that, they need to be checked at least once every two (2) years.
It is at their two months ‘Well-Care’ check-up visit when your child gets their first set of vaccinations at our clinic. The succeeding shots are given when they come to us for their four (4) months, six (6) months, twelve (12) months, fifteen (15) months, four (4) years and eleven (11) years old ‘Well Care’ visits.
Time & time again, Pediatricians have observed that patients who religiously keep-up with their regular preventive ‘Well Care’ visits have fewer medical problems than those who don’t. Most of the children’s major medical problems or death are prevented by early detection and prompt intervention &/or timely corrective action.
